Navigating the Depths in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a dangerous (and dark) proposition. Luckily, there’s an armor set that will help you out — the Miner’s Armor set makes Link glow.

Our Tears of the Kingdom Miner’s Armor guide will help you find all three pieces of the Miner’s armor set: the Miner’s Top, Miner’s Trousers, and Miner’s Helm.

Miner’s Top location

The Miner’s Top is located to the west-southwest of Iayusus Lightroot in Daphnes Canyon Mine (which is directly underneath Mount Daphnes on the Surface).

There’s a whole structure there, but you’re looking for a chest at the very top. It’s under a small stone roof at (-1075, -0558, -0514).

Miner’s Trousers location

Head to the west-southwest of Koradat Lightroot in the Hylia Canyon Mine.

From the natural bridge just south of Koradat Lightroot, paraglide down and to the west. You’ll find another ruin there. You’ll find the chest with the Miner’s Trousers along the southwest edge of the mine surrounded by poes at (-1287, -2250, -0707).

Miner’s Helm location

You’re looking for the Abandoned Kara Kara Mine just a little northeast of Tatayam Lightroot (and a bit west of the Great Abandoned Central Mine).

Turn to the northeast from the lightroot, and the chest containing the Miner’s Helm is in the center of the circular ruins directly ahead of you at (-3230, -2476, -0475).

Miner’s Armor upgrade costs, set bonus, and effect

When equipped individually, the armor gives you a stacking glow buff, lighting up the area around you. When you upgrade all the pieces to at least two-stars or more and equip them, you’ll get a Shining Steps set bonus, leaving small lit-up puddles where you walked.

You’ll be able to upgrade the pieces of the Miner’s Armor at a Great Fairy Fountain, in exchange for the following materials:

  • 1-star (5 defense): 3 brightbloom seeds, 10 rupees
  • 2-star (8 defense): 20 brightbloom seeds, 5 brightcaps, 50 rupees
  • 3-star (12 defense): 15 giant brightbloom seeds, 5 glowing cave fish, 10 deep fireflies, 200 rupees
  • 4-star (20 defense): 20 giant brightbloom seeds, 3 diamonds, 10 large Zonaite, 500 rupees

To fully upgrade this armor, you’ll need 69 brightbloom seeds, 105 giant brightbloom seeds, 15 brightcaps, 15 glowing cave fish, 30 deep fireflies, 9 diamonds, 30 large Zonaite, and 2,280 rupees.
